Tentang Pernikahan

Tempo hari teman saya menikah, beberapa bulan yang lalu teman saya menikah, beberapa tahun yang lalu juga teman saya menikah. Tahun depan juga kelihatannya banyak teman saya yang akan menikah. Mungkin pertanyaan selanjutnya: kapan kamu nikah? 

Saya pernah dapat pertanyaan dari ask.fm: 

What do you think about marriage?

Kala itu, saya menjawab: 

Sakral. Tidak sembarangan. Imagine living a life with a completely new person, his/her family, his/her brother and sister, grandpa and grandma, every single one in his/her family. You need to be accepted, he/she needs to be accepted. And you need money. Membangun rumah tangga perlu uang. Masa mau tinggal sama orang tua terus? Masa mau dibiayai orang tua terus? Plus, marriage is not only about love. It's about commitment. You have agreed to spend your live with him/her, no matter happens. So, yeah, I think marriage is complicated. But I want it.

Saya terlalu sering naksir orang yang sudah punya orang lain (terikat, atau dalam suatu hubungan yang tidak bisa dijelaskan). Kadang saya sering sekali berpikir: bagaimana seandainya jika saya yang bertemu duluan dengan dia? Apakah saya yang akan terikat dengan dia? Akankah dia menjatuhkan pilihannya pada saya?

Lebih sering lagi saya berpikir: bagaimana kalau mereka bukan jodoh? Bagaimana kalau akhirnya putus? Bagaimana kalau dia akhirnya sama saya?

Ckck.

Pikiran yang kurang ajar memang, tapi itulah pikiran terjujur saya.

Hey, when we get married, I think we should buy a microwave. I think it will come in handy especially when we make foods with eggs and bread.

Hey, when we get married, I think we should build a home library. I think I know where to keep our abundant amount of books!

Hey, when we get married, I think we should bike everyday to our workplaces. I think it is much better than to buy two cars.

Hey, when we get married, I think we should plant flowers in our backyard. I think flowery places will boost our mood up!

Hey, when we get married, I think we should never miss Sheila On 7 concert in our town. I think you will like it when we jump together in the crowd!

Hey, when we get married, I think we should spent our weekend with playing badminton. I think I will definitely come to your futsal practice, too.

We'll have good foods, laugh, and fun.

We'll have good talks about our past, present, and future.

And we will live our life the way we want to live our life.
